The technical positions for the software engineers of PayPal start from ‘T22’ and end by ‘T27’. Let’s take a detailed look at them-

T22 – Software Engineer I

This is an entry-level position. You will be hired as an Assistant when you are a fresher who just graduated. It is mostly a position where you will be like a trainee who learns and adapts to the work environment. You will work under a senior software Engineer.

T23 – Software Engineer II 

The duties and work structure are the same as the previous software engineer position, however, the salary and work experience varies. You should have a minimum of 2 years of work experience to be hired as a Software Engineer II in PayPal. 

The Total Average Annual Salary of Software Engineer II of PayPal is $159K, including the base pay of $122K, $15k bonus, $22 Stock Option.

T24 – Senior Software Engineer 

As a Senior Software Engineer, you should supervise two or more software Engineers and report back the progress to the Staff Software Engineer. You should have a minimum of 4 years of work experience to be hired as a Senior Software Engineer in PayPal. 

The Total Average Annual Senior Software Engineer I of PayPal is $187K, including the base pay of $136K, $14k bonus, $37 Stock Option.

T25 – Staff Software Engineer I

It is the highest position you can be directly hired, you will be only promoted. As a staff software engineer, you will handle and manage software engineers of that particular department or branch. You should have a minimum of 6 to 7 years of work experience to be hired as a Staff Software Engineer 1 in PayPal. 

The Total Average Annual Salary of Staff Software Engineer 1 of PayPal is $249K, including the base pay of $161K, $18k bonus, $70 Stock Option.

T26 – Staff Software Engineer II 

The duties and work structure are the same as the previous software engineer position, however, the salary and work experience varies. You should have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of work experience to be promoted as a Staff Software Engineer 2 in PayPal. 

The Total Average Annual Salary of Staff Software Engineer 2 of PayPal is $304K, including the base pay of $189K, $31k bonus, $85 Stock Option.

T27 – Senior Staff Software Engineer 

It is the topmost software Engineer position available on PayPal. It is equal to a position like Data Manager or Technical Manager. You should have a minimum of 10 years of work experience to be promoted as a Senior Staff Software Engineer in PayPal. 

The Total Average Annual Salary of a Senior Staff Software Engineer of PayPal is $421K, including the base pay of $214K, $44k bonus, $162 Stock Option.
