HP Enterprises and its Organizational Structure
Hewlett Packard Enterprise is shortly known as the HPE, is an American multinational Information Technology company that serves worldwide. It is headquartered in Texas, United States, and started its business in 2015 and gained vast popularity in the IT Sector.
Its services are mainly focused on consulting, servers, storage, networking, and Financial Services. In 2018 HPE was ranked as the 106 in the 2021 Fortune 500 list of United States.
As per the 2020 chart, HPE employees more than 59,400 employees.
The inter-organizational Hierarchy of HP Enterprises is complex and hard to understand. Like other IT companies, they use the common Band system to classify the Hierarchy level.

Here is the simplified ascending list of Technical Designations in the HP Enterprises –
A 10 – A 11 – New Recruits and Software Engineer
If you are a new graduate with no prior experience you will be positioned in these two bands. The first one covers your training period where you will learn and adapt to the organizational culture and workings.
Then after 6 months or 1 year, you will be promoted to a Software Engineer and will be assigned tasks and projects. The Average Annual Salary of the Software Engineer in the HPE is estimated as ₹965,979
A 12 – Senior System Engineer
You will be promoted as a Senior Software Engineer after 2 or 3 years of experience in the previous band. It is an Intermediate Level posting with responsibilities.
A senior software Engineer will be supervising and guiding the personals in the entry band. The Average Annual Salary of the Senior Software Engineer is above ₹1,093,421
A 13 – Tech Lead
The Tech lead comes under the Specialist Level. A Tech Lead is also called a Specialist Engineer due to his designations level. There are two subdivisions on the Specialist level – Specialist Engineer and Senior Specialist Engineer.
As the name states he/she should have deep knowledge and high experience to get hired as a Tech lead. The Average Annual Payout will be about ₹1,370,000
A 14 – Project Lead
The project lead guides a whole team of Engineers, who can be from various bands and have special skills to complete a particular project. In short, he is the head of the complex projects and consulting of the firm.
A Project Lead falls under the Expert Level in HPE’s chain of command. The Average Annual Salary of a Project Lead (Expert Level Engineer) is ₹1,660,000
A 15 – Project Manager
Project Manager is categorized under master-level designations. He/she has many key roles in a particular project. Like planning, monitoring and controlling, etc… They will be held accountable for the entire project.
Experience alone cannot form a Project Manager, co-operative skill and material knowledge are very important. The Average Annual Salary of a Project manager is ₹ 1,878,975
A 16 – Program Manager
The Program manager also comes under the Master Level, and the responsibilities and roles are the same as the Project manager. The only difference is he manages the group project and a whole program.
He is the one who communicates directly with the client and commands the team or project managers as per their discussion with the clients. The average salary of the Program Manager is ₹ 1,970,000.

The classification like Entry, Intermediate, Specialist, Expert, and Master is applied to all the departments of the HPE enterprises. And after the Master’s level comes HPE fellow which covers the designations like CEO, Director, etc… They will be solely or mostly focused on the managerial side of the company.
